FAQ - Gold City Jewelry

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What types of gold do you buy?

We buy all types of gold, including 9K, 10K, 14K, 18K, 22K, and 24K gold. We evaluate the purity of the gold before making an offer based on the current market price.

2. How do you determine the value of my gold?

The value of your gold is based on its purity (karat), weight, and the current market price of gold. We offer a full evaluation in-store, and the price we offer is valid for that day only due to market fluctuations.

3. Can I sell broken or damaged gold jewelry?

Yes, we accept broken or damaged gold jewelry. The value is still determined by the weight and purity of the gold, regardless of its condition.

4. Do you resell used gold jewelry?

No, at Gold City Jewelry, we only sell brand new jewelry. Any gold items we buy are melted down and refined, and we do not resell used items.

5. What is your return policy?

All sales are final. We do not accept returns or exchanges on any items. Please make sure to inspect your jewelry before completing the transaction.

6. How long does a repair take?

Repair times vary depending on the complexity of the work. Some repairs can be completed in as little as one business day, while others may take up to two business weeks.

7. Do repairs come with a warranty?

No, repairs do not come with a warranty. Due to the nature of certain jewelry, such as hollow rope chains, repairs are not guaranteed to make the item indestructible. If a repaired item breaks again, we will assess the situation and decide whether to repair it again for free or at an additional cost.

8. What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash, credit/debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express), and bank transfers for larger transactions. Please note that we do not accept or pay interest on any transactions.

9. Do I need to make an appointment to sell gold?

An appointment is not required to sell gold, but we encourage appointments for larger transactions or custom orders to ensure prompt service.

10. What happens if I don't pick up my repaired or custom jewelry?

Customers are expected to pick up repaired or custom jewelry items within 30 days of notification. After 60 days, uncollected items will be subject to a storage fee, and after 90 days, unclaimed items may be resold to cover costs.

11. How do I know the gold I’m selling is getting the best price?

We base our gold prices on the daily market rate, and we evaluate your items in-store to ensure you get the best possible price for that day. Our offers are valid only on the day of evaluation to reflect the changing gold prices.

12. Can I text or WhatsApp your store for inquiries?

Yes! You can call, text, or message us via WhatsApp at 347-552-7879 for any inquiries, gold evaluations, or appointment bookings.

13. Do I need ID to sell gold?

Yes, a valid government-issued photo ID is required to sell gold. This is to ensure compliance with legal regulations and to prevent fraudulent transactions.

14. What if my jewelry breaks after a repair?

If your jewelry breaks again in the same place after a repair, we will assess the situation. Due to the nature of some jewelry items, such as hollow rope chains, repairs may not make the item indestructible. We reserve the right to decide whether to repair the item again for free or charge an additional fee.

15. How do you test gold for authenticity?

We use several methods to test the authenticity of gold, including acid testing, electronic testing, and, if necessary, X-ray fluorescence (XRF). This ensures that we provide accurate evaluations for all items.

16. Do you offer custom jewelry designs?

Yes, we offer custom jewelry design services. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to begin the process. Custom orders typically take 4-6 weeks to complete, depending on complexity.

17. Can I clean my jewelry at Gold City Jewelry?

19. Do you offer same-day evaluations for gold?
